Welcome to the Triangle Adoption Support Group. Whether you are here as a birth parent, adoptive parent, adoptee, or some other person touched by adoption, we want you to know that you are welcome. This is a safe place to share your story.
Primary purpose is to be a support group to tell and learn how adoption has affected your life and the lives of others. For newcomers, we acknowledge that this may be your first time coming to terms with your circumstances and your feelings. We hope that by sharing these feelings you will find wholeness and hope for yourself. We also believe that it helps to hear other people's stories. For example, an adoptee may find it helpful to hear a birth mother?s story, just as it may be helpful for an adoptive parent and/or birth-parent to hear the adoptee?s experience.
Meetings will follow two formats, one more formal and the other less formal. In more formal meeting we may host a speaker or show a film relevant to adoption. In less formal meetings the focus will be sharing of experiences among group members.
We are glad you want to join, and hope by coming to this support group you will find what you need for healing.
AGENDA FOR AUGUST MEETING:
